New food labeling legislation in the United States - a good example of what can be done

United States House of Representatives Passes New Act for Sesame Labeling...

... which constitutes a great achievement for "FARE - Food Allegy Research and Education" and its broader community of 32 million americans with food allergies.

You can read all about it here. In a nutshell, there's two key take-aways:

One, Sesame will be mandatory in food labeling in the US - which was not the case before - as the corolary of the effort of concerned people that never gave up the fight for proper food labeling, and,

Two, because Sesame is now part of labeling requirements, the US federal government committed to conduct a comprehensive research report on food allergy prevention and treatment.

So well done to FARE and others invoved! There's so much to do in medical research related to allergies in general, and food allergies in particular, that this is very welcomed because all the other communities around the world will be able to benefit from the outcomes.

A big thanks from Luxembourg!
